Soprole adds 4 new 100% electric refrigerated trucks to its distribution fleet

Soprole suma 4 nuevos camiones refrigerados 100% eléctricos a su flota de distribución

Through its "Circular Smile" program, the company is leading electromobility in the dairy cold chain in partnership with Copec Voltex and Kaufmann.

Santiago, October 2025. Soprole has taken a pioneering step in the Chilean dairy industry by adding four new 100% electric trucks with refrigeration systems to its distribution fleet. This project was realized through a strategic alliance with Copec Voltex and Kaufmann, also incorporating logistics operators Transportes Rojas, Conti, and Santa Alberta.

The new vehicles, FUSO eCanter 918 L model, feature specifications designed for urban environments:

  • Capacity: 4.6 tons of refrigerated cargo.
  • Range: 200 km per charge.
  • Safety: Side blind-spot assist and autonomous emergency braking system.
  • Operation: Distribution from the Renca Center to the entire Metropolitan Region.

Commitment to the Environment

This fleet renewal will allow Soprole to avoid the emission of nearly 18,700 tons of CO₂ per year, which is equivalent to the carbon sequestration of more than 20,000 hectares of native forest.

"With this initiative, we are moving forward in reducing the footprint of our operations and continuing the commitment of our Soprole Circular Smile program, which seeks to nurture smiles in future generations with a clean environment," stated Sebastián Tagle, General Manager of Soprole.
"The incorporation of these trucks demonstrates that electromobility is a viable and sustainable solution even for such demanding processes as the cold chain, where continuity and performance are essential," expressed Diego Soto, B2B Electromobility Sub-manager at Copec Voltex.

Strategic Alliances and the Future

The project includes not only the vehicles but also the charging infrastructure necessary for operational continuity. Andrés Mann Cruz, of Kaufmann, highlighted that his company's role includes an integrated ecosystem to ensure that the trucks operate efficiently and reliably.

Furthermore, as part of this sustainability ecosystem, Soprole will incorporate high-end electric vehicles into its corporate fleet, including smart #3 BRABUS and Mercedes-Benz CLA 200 models.

"Our alliance with Soprole has a 44-year history. We could not sit out this initiative; we know that today, electromobility is a way to take care of our environment," affirmed Margarita Oñat Escobar, representative of Transportes Conti.
