The collaboration between both companies allowed for the installation of two charging points at Viña VIK, located in the Millahue Valley, making it easier for visitors to recharge their vehicles while enjoying the surroundings and gastronomy.
Santiago, April 2nd.- As part of its commitment to promoting more sustainable tourism through electromobility, BMW and Copec Voltex have finalized an alliance to install two electric charging points at Viña VIK—located in the Millahue Valley, O’Higgins Region—. The Wallbox technology chargers were strategically installed in the hotel and restaurant area so that visitors can charge their vehicles during their stay.
The 7.4 kW chargers with a Type 2 connector allow for comfortable and easy recharging, as they can be activated via the Copec app. This type of charging, known as "regular" or "opportunity" charging, is designed to integrate naturally into people's travel experience, as it allows winery guests to recharge their vehicles overnight while enjoying the tranquility of the environment and the landscape. At the same time, restaurant customers can take advantage of their visit to charge their cars while tasting the local gastronomy.
Their installation reinforces BMW's commitment to electric mobility and sustainability, facilitating access to charging solutions for those who choose eco-friendly vehicles. Furthermore, the implementation of this infrastructure at Viña VIK is a clear commitment to a greener future, in line with the values the German brand promotes globally.
For its part, VIK embodies the fusion of sustainability and innovation. Recognized as the second-best vineyard in the world in the 2024 World’s Best Vineyards ranking and a leader in Chile and South America, it was also chosen as one of the best hotels in the world by Condé Nast Traveller in 2015.
Additionally, in support of the environment, it holds I-REC certification, guaranteeing that 100% of the energy it consumes comes from renewable sources. This certification was obtained after a year of verification of its electricity supply, which is provided by the company AtriaE, with energy injected by the San Juan Wind Farm in the Atacama Region.
In this way, BMW accelerates clean and efficient mobility, providing cutting-edge technology for responsible driving. This collaboration is one more step in its commitment to solutions that build a sustainable automotive ecosystem that is accessible and in tune with the demands of the present.
On the other hand, BMW customers will be able to live this unique experience thanks to the alliance with VIK, as those who purchase any model from the brand will access exclusive benefits in the physical and online store, in addition to discounts at the restaurant and hotel.
