Copec Voltex leads 2025 Electromobility Seminar alongside authorities and electric public transport companies

Copec Voltex lidera Seminario de Electromovilidad 2025 junto a autoridades y empresas del transporte público eléctrico

The meeting brought together more than 100 public and private sector representatives to analyze Chile's progress toward a carbon-neutral transport system.

Santiago, September 2025.- Copec Voltex, in conjunction with the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications, held the 2025 Electromobility Seminar. The event provided a platform to discuss the operational, technological, and regulatory challenges of the transition to electric buses across the country.

During the session, strategic pillars for the ecosystem were addressed:

  • Electro-terminal Optimization: Tools to improve energy supply efficiency.
  • Fleet Management: Technological innovations presented by Dhemax experts.
  • Renewable Supply: Green energy solutions provided by Copec EMOAC.

Commitment to Decarbonization

The company's vision focuses on scaling charging infrastructure outside the capital, consolidating a robust national network.

"We were pioneers in taking the electro-terminal network outside of Santiago, and by the end of this year, we will have more than 40 in operation in different regions of Chile. We reaffirm our commitment to driving an efficient and safe energy transition,” stated Andrea Castro, General Manager of Copec Voltex.

Santiago and Regions: A leap in infrastructure

The seminar highlighted the exponential growth of charging points. While Santiago solidifies its position as a world leader (outside of China), the regions are beginning a massive bidding process.

“When we began this administration, we had only 10 electro-terminals, and by March 2026, we will reach 55. This implies a public transport system that is a decade ahead of national carbon neutrality goals,” highlighted Paola Tapia Salas, Director of the DTPM.
“We have tenders in full development in cities like Iquique, Calama, Greater Valparaíso, and Punta Arenas, which will allow us to inject more than 800 electric buses into the regional fleet, surpassing the barrier of one thousand vehicles outside of Santiago,” remarked Cristóbal Pineda, Head of Regional Public Transport.

Towards a scalable model

With this meeting, Copec reinforces its role as a strategic partner to the State, promoting a transport model that not only reduces noise and emissions but also improves the quality of life for citizens across the entire national territory.
