Copec and Tesla to strengthen electric charging network on Chilean highways with Superchargers

Copec y Tesla fortalecerán red de carga eléctrica en carreteras de Chile con Superchargers

Ultra-fast Tesla Superchargers will be installed at Copec service stations between La Serena and Puerto Montt, using 100% renewable energy.

Santiago, January 2026.- Tesla and Copec have announced the joint development of an ultra-fast highway charging network throughout Chile. The initiative includes the installation of Tesla Supercharger stations at Copec service stations located between La Serena and Puerto Montt, with an approximate distance of 200 kilometers between each point.

Each selected station will feature a Tesla Supercharger with four charging points and a total power output of up to 250 kW. They will operate using 100% renewable energy supplied by Copec Emoac. Thanks to this technology, drivers will be able to gain up to 280 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes.

Digital Integration and User Experience

The services will be integrated into Copec's digital ecosystem, allowing payment management through the Copec App (accessing Full Copec benefits) or via the Tesla App. This interoperability aims to make the network open and accessible to the growing fleet of electric vehicles in the country.

"Through Copec Voltex, we have developed the most extensive network in Latin America, and thanks to this partnership with Tesla, we will strengthen highway infrastructure so that electric vehicles become a real and reliable alternative for traveling across Chile," stated Arturo Natho, General Manager of Copec.
"Our focus is to offer a reliable, fast, and accessible experience that allows users to travel with complete peace of mind. Robust infrastructure is essential for the sustainable development of the market," indicated Agustín Amoretti, General Manager of Tesla Chile.

Towards a future of ultra-fast charging

Different charging alternatives will coexist at the same station, reducing wait times under a free-choice model. Implementation will be carried out gradually throughout the year 2026.

Additionally, Copec will continue to renovate its own Copec Voltex infrastructure, incorporating power outputs that can reach up to 600 kW, establishing a new standard for highway charging in the country.
